The Parent Weekly for April 27th, Jesus is Alive (part 2)

What we’re learning this week

Big Idea: Jesus is Alive (part 2)

John 19—20. God had a plan to send a Savior. When the time was right, God sent His only Son, Jesus, who came to earth and died on a cross for our sins. After three days, He rose from the grave. Jesus is alive!

Where we’re headed next time

Big Idea: God is Love (part 1)

Acts 11v19–30 The apostles shared God’s love with the people in Antioch, and many of them decided to follow Jesus. As Barnabas and Paul returned to teach, God’s love prompted the church in Antioch to help provide for the people in Jerusalem who were facing a famine.

Dig into God’s Word

  • Read Acts 11v27–30. Remind your child that it was God’s love that prompted the church in Antioch to want to help their brothers and sisters in Jerusalem.

Connect as a Family

Praise your child’s effort to help with housework and remind him that helping your family honors God.

  • Why were the people in Antioch taking care of each other?

  • The people loved God and others, just as God had asked them to.

Blessing

Blessings are often used in the Bible. A blessing can be a prayer of commission, a portion of Scripture, or words to encourage and guide.

Open a Bible and read Psalm 36v7a:“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!”
